Classes at the ArtSchool Spring 2012

Earlier this month, I stopped by The ArtsCenter and got to explore all of the creative activities going on at The ArtSchool.

The laughter from The West End Theatre led me first to a Beginner's Improv Class. Improv students were practicing their techniques in front of their classmates and getting some direct tips from their instructors. Fits of giggles erupted as each student worked to incorporate their individual strengths onto the stage.

After enjoying sitting in on the improv, I walked down the hall and got to observe a Belly Dancing class. As soon as I stepped in, the room had a positive energy and every student looked like they were enjoying letting go to the music. The dancing instructor was at ease as she invited all of her students to go with the flow.

Right next door to the Belly Dancing Class, I got to sit in on a Painting and Drawing course. Each student had their own portfolio of work and it was great to see the one on one communication and collaboration between the instructor and the students.

Then I stepped into a Pottery Class and got to see each student's projects. Some were sitting at the pottery wheel to shap their clay and others were already painting their finished pieces. To wind up my afternoon tour, I dropped by the Graphic Design course and enjoyed seeing how the instructor set the class up with a projector screen to keep everyone on the same page.

As you can see, just a walk through The ArtsCenter on a spring afternoon gave me a great perspective of the diversity of classes and activities that are always going on at The ArtSchool.
