Dancing Your Way Through Math!
Monday, June 3, 2013; 6-7:30pm
Teaching Artist: Katie Moorehead
Math and dance might seem like two different worlds, but they are more linked than you might think. Come dance, move and play to learn new strategies for improving your child’s math skills. This workshop will focus on understanding sequences- recognizing patterns, creating and manipulating a series of movements, and then understanding a variety of geometry math concepts. Through movement, you will learn to make number sequencing fun and make multiplication facts more exciting! No dance experience is needed, but be prepared to move around.
Each workshop is $10 (to be paid at the beginning of the workshop) and will take place at The ArtsCenter. You must register in advance by emailing The ArtsCenter’s Arts In Education Coordinator Tracy Thomas at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your name, phone number and what you hope to get out of the workshop.
