Imagination and fearlessness lead a young girl on a crusade to save a magical world.
Monsters learn how to waltz and angels shed their wings.
To save the world and her family from impending darkness and doom, a little girl must face the dragon and learn to waltz. Can she do it in time?
For Lucy is a fanciful, heartwarming play about a remarkable young girl’s crusade to save a magical world and her family from falling into darkness after tragedy strikes.
Lucy is a young girl struggling with the recent death of her mother. To add insult to injury, she is pushed around by the school bullies and her well-intentioned but bossy grandmother. Lucy’s dad, so wrapped up in engine propellers and his own grief, serves her breakfasts of nothing but toast and fails to get her to school on time. Enter Quark, an entertaining and magical creature who implores Lucy to help save his world, “Somewhere Else,” from impending darkness and doom. Also on hand to help are two, all-too human angels and a pizza pie making doctor. When Lucy realizes it is up to her to not only save Quark’s world, but also to help her family, she is invigorated with purpose that, along with her new friends, emboldens her crusade.
Although dealing with serious matters, For Lucy is at essence, an upbeat story, bolstered by the message Lucy learns during her odyssey - that the world is full of endless possibilities and lots and lots of hope.
For Lucy is rated G and appropriate for families of children 8 years of age and up.
The play runs one hour with a 10-minute intermission.
