Whether you like to Chortle (a snorting, joyful laugh) or Chuckle (to laugh quietly or to oneself, to cluck or chuck, as a hen) this show is for you! Come do one or both in Carrboro with local stand-up comedians!
This month celebrate the One Year Anniversary of the Small Town Funny podcast! Not just funny from the comics below, also a comedy panel and games. Laugh, smile and have fun!
Co-Hosts: Michelle Maclay and John Sideris
Michelle Maclay
Michelle is a local comic working in NC. She co-producers a HILARIOUS podcast called Small Town Funny [http://smalltownfunny.wordpress.com/] with John Sideris. They talk about performing locally, writing jokes, and about building an act away from traditional comedy meccas. Michelle loves to host comedy and music shows…interacting with the audience, sharing live comedy with the Triangle area makes her tick and laugh! Michelle shares insights about topics such as what it is like to not have kids but know how to raise them, all the way to dating your doctor, by appointment only.

John Sideris
John is g**d*** awesome. By day he sits in front of a computer and occasionally stands in front of a class; by night he wow's audiences all over the east coast, from Durham to Carrboro. He co-hosts, with Michelle Maclay, the internationally known podcast, Small Town Funny. In his spare time he wrestles anacondas and is translating the work of Dylan Thomas into English.
November's Line-Up
Caroline Monday
A local favorite, Caroline delivers a dry commentary on topics ranging from the challenges of Tweeting while stalking to proper the technique for using tampons to scare away men. She has performed for audiences across the region, opening for a number nationally touring comedians and appearing in festivals including the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival.
Shane Smith
Shane Smith is a stand-up comedian, improviser, artist and Cat lover. His cat not yours. He is a proud member of DSI comedy’s house improv team Mister Diplomat. Shane Co-Produces a monthly stand-up show case The Dangling Loafer. He is also host of Stuff I Like featured on triangle.com
Gretchen McNeely
Gretchen McNeely is a seasoned stage performer with years of experience in sketch, improvisation, stand-up comedy, voiceover, radio and humor writing. Her stage presence is upbeat, sharp and intelligent. Gretchen is currently a stand-up comic, host, corporate speaker and emcee. She hopes to gain her auctioneer certification next year. To keep her busy, she has two children under five.
