Seeing the Ancient: A Paperhand Retrospective
A retrospective look at the work of Donovan Zimmerman and Jan Burger in collaboration with hundreds. For the past 15 years Paperhand has brought original works of multi-disciplined performance art to the many thousands of Triangle area residents and beyond. Combining recycled materials such as used paper bags, cardboard, old house paint, and other found or donated stuff, they create and retell myths, illuminate stories, and work hard to make the world a better place. Their work strives to inspire all ages, genders, races, political affiliations etc… basically everyone. Their next live performance is called The Painted Bird and will begin Aug 8th at the Forest Theatre in Chapel Hill every weekend night thru Sept 7th. Then, look for the show at the NC Museum of Art Sept 12, 13, and 14 for the season finale.
Opening Reception: Friday, July 11th, 6-8pm in the Nicholson Gallery. The opening reception coincides with the 2nd Friday ArtWalk. The exhibit will be on display July 1st through 31st.
